When working with me, I will work to empower you to recognize and use your own resources to understand something better, to make peace with something that cannot be changed, or to create a plan to tackle a problem that has a solution.

My Approach

Julie Shepardson

I consider therapy to be a collaborative effort where you and I work together to find the
solution that best fits you and your life. I am active in this process, joining you in looking at
your life and your responses to your challenges. I will treat you with respect, dignity and
compassion. While I have certain knowledge and expertise, you are the expert of your own
life. I am committed to honoring the complexity of each person’s story.
I use a variety of therapeutic modalities, and each experience is tailored to your unique
needs. We’ll be uncovering issues you might not be aware of and revealing ways of thinking
and behaving that stand in your way. Developing new behaviors, new perspectives and
effective coping strategies will lead to improved relationships, increased personal insight,
and enhanced mood.

Turning today’s struggles into tomorrow’s strength.
